The Season of Lent

 

 

As the season of Lent approaches, we will engage in many of the traditions of the church. Mite boxes will be available, along with a Lenten calendar, to help in our disciplines. The mite boxes will be gathered on Easter Sunday, and all the proceeds go to support the Union Station Homeless Project.

 

I invite you, therefore, in the name of the Church, to the observance of a holy Lent, by self-examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and self-denial; and by reading and meditating on God’s Holy Word.  (BCP p. 265)

 

 

Holy Week and Easter Services

The Holy Season of the year is upon us and is richly celebrated by Grace Episcopal Church with many special services along with other opportunities to deepen our spiritual lives.  We invite everyone to attend our services and events and to honor the season with us. 

 

Palm Sunday, March 28, 2021

• 6:00 A.M. - Enjoy Holy Week services online from Grace Episcopal Church.  This online service will feature a reminder of past Palm Sunday activities, from the gathering at Baxter Hall, to the procession to our Church.  Online Service, please click:  Palm Sunday Service
• 9:00 A.M. - Will be hosted on the front lawn of Grace Episcopal Church.  Reservations are required, social distancing will be enforced for the safety of all involved.
• 11:30 A.M. - Please join us on ZOOM for the Annual Business Meeting of Grace Episcopal Church.  Zoom Link, please click: Annual Meeting of GEC.
• 1 - 5 P.M. - Enjoy a very special event in the rear parking lot of Grace Church.  A 12 station Holy Week Walk with narration.  This event is free to all but requires family signups.  Please click:  Holy Week Walk

 

Maundy Thursday - April 1, 2021

• 6:30 P.M. - Join us for a Maundy Thursday Dinner together on ZOOM.  We will meet, online as one family of God.  The dinner will end with the striping and washing of the Alter as per our tradition.  Zoom meeting, please click:  Maundy Thursday Dinner

Good Friday - April 2, 2021

• 12 noon - The liturgy for Good Friday will be celebrated with an online service specially created for Good Friday.  Come and enjoy this special service.

Easter Sunday Services

• 6 A.M. - A very special and creative Easter Sunday Service will be available online for your enjoyment and celebration.  Yes, Christ has risen.  Please click:  Easter Sunday Service
• 9 A.M. - Will be hosted on the front lawn of Grace Episcopal Church.  Reservations are required, social distancing will be enforced for the safety of all involved.  There are no activities planned after the service due to Covid-19. 

Donations for Easter Sunday Flowers are very welcome.

We celebrate in many ways, especially with flowers.

Flower Donation can be made throughout this special season and

used for our various services and enjoyment.
